Article Snippet: To test the functionality of our system we decided to use DAT-CRE transgenic mice (Jackson Laboratory stock number: 006660) injected with DIO-ChR2-EYFP in the VTA and implanted with an optic fiber above this region to deliver light and activate dopamine neurons.
